Regarding the Picture, we couldn't see the floor for 3 days. Also I don't even think all of the kids in the picture are mine. Anyway we had a good time on Christmas Eve. Although with 5 girls and one girl cousin, I had a lot of Barbies to open (they package them now as though they were not meant to open). Melissa asked me for a pair of scissors and what do I bring her? My daily sharpened Old Timer with a massive intimitating blade, of course. After cutting 50 ties for each Barbie we were home free and the girls were in Barbie heaven. Let's not forget my manly 4yr old Noah and his almost life sized dump truck and Front end loader. My girls know better than to try to Barbie-ize him (Daddy will have none of that). By the way, if my wife tries to say I played with the Dump truck and Front end loader on her blog, it's true.
Great news and praise be to God. We recieved a large gift towards our Haiti Adoption which allows us to keep the ball rolling and gets us closer to bringing our precious girls home (you think we had a lot of barbies this year, wait until Djounela and Vanessa are home). My wife's blog has more details.
I want to leave with posting a verse that is key in living the Christian life and us really being who we say we are, followers of Christ. Mark 8:34-38 NIV 34 "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 35 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. 36 What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfiet his soul? 37 Or what can a man gain in exchange for his soul? 38 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes into His Father's glory with the holy angles." As our Pastor put it yesterday, everything we posses in this world will be burned up, cars, houses, things. These are all temporary. Our souls are eternal. The question is where will we spend eternity? Also read Galatians 2:20. The key here is that we were living for ourselves before we were saved. I, me, get what I can get. The person that dies with the most stuff wins. No the person that dies with the most stuff is dead. God created us for one purpose. To have fellowship with him. When we deny ourself and acknowledge Him then we are honoring Him for who He truly is, our King, Savior, Lord, Master, Provider, Warrior and much much more. Seek Him and you will find Him.

Well, here I am again. I'm sure I'll get the hang of this sooner or later and won't only blog once a week.
Again, you can go to my wife's blog (attached to this somewhere) and see the latest happenings with our Haiti adoption. I don't want to be an echo of her blog, but use this more to compliment her's.
I want to share a verse that has been on my heart this week. Romans 8:32 NASB. "He who did not spare His own Son but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things"? If He did that, don't you think that He will do this? Whatever that might be for you. Whatever you are struggling with or fear. He did not spare His own Son. Everything else is pale in comparison. A complimentory verse is Phillipians 4:6,7 NIV. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Chris Jesus". I could go on and on with the verses, but to hold this thought, think about these two. Not only will he freely give, but he will also give peace to sustain us, above all understanding.
I would like to tie this in to our current adoption (even though I said I wouldn't talk about it here. I lied.) Our peace about our girls in Haiti, (even though we are extremely concerned about their health) comes from God's Word (see above) and our complete and utter dependence on Him, our adoptive Father. Okay, one more verse, Romans 8:15 NASB "For you have not received a spirit of slavery, leading to fear again but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out Abba Father"!
Get your bible out and read these verses for yourself. You will (not might) be blessed.

For some reason, most of the blogs I read are from women. Maybe it's not viewed as manly to Blog. Iv'e never had a problem with that misconception so here I am entering into the blog thing.
The reason for my interest is two fold. 1. I want to spread awareness about adoption and specifically Haiti. 2. To give glory to God.
If you don't have a bible handy here is the verse that is in the blog name. Isaiah 54:2 (NIV) "Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes." This verse and the ones surrounding it have been an inspirit ion to us since our first adoption almost 13 years ago. Fast forward to the present and we have Adopted 6 and are currently working on 7 and 8. The two beautiful sisters we are in the process of adopting are from Haiti and they are severely undernourished. My wife and I are completely trusting in the Lord for this long process to come to completion. Hebrews 11:6 (NIV) "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."
