A much respected Pastor on the radio was asked if he believed we were living in the end times. He said yes and the he believed that it would happen during his lifetime. He is in his sixties. 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6 (NASB) says "Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you. 2 For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. 3 While they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; 5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; 6 so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober." Paul is talking to believers here and is telling them to be ready at all times. If you have not said yes to him, you will witness destruction and be rejected by Him. Matthew 7:21-23 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' 23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.' Think about this if you think you are a good person and do good things but have never asked Jesus into your heart. When you stand before God in Judgement he will say "DEPART FROM ME" If that is you, come to him today, it is a matter of life and death. You might say, I would never choose death, but by not following Christ, that is exactly what you are doing. 1 John 5:11,12 (NIV) And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
